Delia and Emery’s wedding day was filled with personal touches, vibrant colors, and an infectious energy that made every moment unforgettable. While the weather might not have been ideal—rain poured all day—the couple made the most of every opportunity to create a wedding that was uniquely theirs. From a pillow fight to an iconic first look, to the celebration of love and pride, their day was one for the books.
One of the most fun and playful moments of the day came early on when Delia and her wedding party had a pillow fight in the getting-ready suite. Laughter echoed through the room as the bride and her closest friends shared this lighthearted moment, setting the tone for what would be an exciting, joyful celebration. It was the perfect reminder that a wedding day is about more than just the ceremony—it’s about enjoying the journey, surrounded by the people who matter most.
The couple’s first look was nothing like any other. In a creative twist, Delia and Emery decided to do a back-to-back first look, so they could experience the magic of seeing each other for the first time simultaneously. It was an intimate and meaningful moment, made even more special by the fact that they got to share it together, turning their back-to-back positions into a shared emotional milestone.
Despite the rainy weather, Delia and Emery’s ceremony was nothing short of beautiful. The indoor venue provided the perfect setting for a cozy, romantic ceremony, where the couple exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends. With the rain gently falling outside, the warm, intimate atmosphere made the day feel even more special.
The indoor portraits took on a creative twist as well. One of the most striking shots of the day was a silhouette of Delia and Emery illuminated by the vibrant colors of the pride flag. The vivid hues of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple created a stunning visual representation of their love and commitment, making for one of the most unique and meaningful photos of the day. It was a beautiful tribute to the couple’s shared values and their pride in one another.
As the reception kicked off, the energy in the room was palpable. Delia shared a special, silly dance with her dad that had everyone in stitches—proof that their relationship was built on both love and humor. The real party began, however, when pride flag fans were handed out to guests. The colorful fans became the perfect party prop, with guests waving them in the air, adding an extra burst of color and joy to the evening. The dance floor was packed, and the celebration continued late into the night, filled with laughter, dancing, and endless fun.
For Delia and Emery, their wedding day wasn’t just about tradition or perfection—it was about creating a celebration that reflected their personalities, their love for each other, and their pride in who they are. From the creative portraits to the playful moments with their wedding party, their day was a testament to the power of love, creativity, and joy. Even with the rain, it was clear: this was a wedding to remember, one that will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to witness it.
Always have a back-up for the rain! 2023 was the rainiest year for weddings that we’ve ever had, and even though there are some breaks in the downpour, sometimes you just get rained out. Make sure that your photographer is capable of doing photos indoors, and make sure to carve out a space indoors for your family and formal portraits together. Even if the sun shines and you won’t need them, indoor photo locations can make for a great photo option no matter what!
