Their Wedding Story

Kristen & Ken are a special couple to Pretty Nerdy Photography. Not just because they are 100% incredible people and huge nerds just like us, Kristen & Ken have already been coming to us for their family photos for years before we got to document their big day!

Usually we spend wedding day mornings getting to know everyone and sharing a bit about ourselves while capturing all the best getting ready moments. For Kristen though we were able to jump right into the action! We were immediately greeted with a big hug from our buddy Charlie (their daughter) who was so excited to see us and brought us to play right away! From there it was so easy and fun to hang out with everyone that we got some of our favorite getting ready shots of the year!

Ken & the guys were busy playing Magic the Gathering when we headed their way, but they jumped right into action to get dressed. Ken certainly wasn’t going to be late for their first look, he was so excited to see his gorgeous bride. We made him wait at the foot of the stairs so that we could get the absolutely stunning shot of Kristen descending to him. (OUR FAVORITE PHOTO! Check it out!) With some tearful hugs, the rest of the wedding party joined in for some photos out in the snow squall! We are personally so proud of everyone for toughing it out, it was worth it for some snowy magic.

After a few words, rings, and a kiss, Kristen & Ken tied the knot with Charlie right by their side! With Hotel Providence as our venue we got to enjoy not only the reception hall but also their fabulous bar and private dance floor. From there on it was nothing but partying and good times throughout the evening, including a Mother-Daughter dance, a Mother-Son dance, and the sweetest dance between Ken & Charlie before opening up the floor to some serious talent!

Wedding Day Tips

Make sure to have a back-up option in case the weather doesn’t work in your favor. For this wedding we held tough taking wedding part photos through a snow squall, but there’s nothing wrong with photos indoor! Make sure your venue has a back-up option in case of inclement weather!
