To be married is to take a leap of faith in someone. You are choosing to believe them when they say they will show up for you every day. Even the concept of a wedding day is to hope and believe that everything you planned will all come together. There are so many moving parts, so many people to organize, and so much planning to prepare for your perfect day. Inrava & Jeet took that leap of faith with their wedding day and it could not have come out more perfectly.
If you’ve never been to an Indian wedding, they often take place over a few days and before that, there’s lots of other events leading up to the big day. Usually photographers only get hired for 1-2 of the days of celebration, but sometimes we can be there for a whole week or so! The experience is so welcoming and beautiful that by the end of the celebrations, we start to feel like a member of the family. While we have been invited to, and attended an Indian wedding in the past, we have only ever experienced it as a guest, so Becky was so excited to have the opportunity to document one as a photographer! This day however, was a little different, this was an elopement! Something that we are very familiar with, and in the past, something that usually only lasts 1-3 hours at most. Indian elopements are a gorgeous cross between having all the excitement and joy of that big wedding experience, packed into a perfect 8 hour wedding day.
The day started with Inrava getting her final touches in her first outfit of the day, a classic and stunning red & gold ensemble. Once we captured her getting ready process, we captured some sisterly love and were off to the temple! Jeet patiently waited for Inrava to arrive and was so thrilled during their first look to see each other. We then went inside and the ceremony began!
The ceremony was beautiful, with lots of family involvement. Everyone was so much enjoying themselves that Inrava & Jeet may have even had a few extra turns around the sacred flames instead of the standard seven. There was laughter and tears and cheers as they united together. The fun had only just begun at this point! After a lunch with the family it was time to get ready for the second half of the day. We captured family photos and headed off to change into the second incredible outfits of the day.
Inrava & Jeet certainly made the leap to trust us with all their photos as we kept stopping them to capture any gorgeous shot we saw as we headed off to the reception location. Our final photo location was somewhere important to them both, Harvard Square. This was where they had spent so many memories together and they wanted to be sure to incorporate it for one more big special memory of their wedding day.
Congratulations again to this incredible couple. Thank you for taking the leap to choose us to capture your wedding day, and we wish you a lifetime of happiness together! Happy Wedding Day to Inrava & Jeet!
Why have just one outfit option for your big day? Take a break between moments to have a little hair and make-up refresher and change up your fit for the day.
