We were so excited to capture Emily & Ingrid’s wedding day! Not only are they some of the nicest people we’ve ever met, but we also got to capture this wedding at our hometown location, The Kilburn Mill.
Ingrid got ready in the bridal suite at the Kilburn Mill with her family by her side. Emily got ready with her family and friends at the Seaport Inn in Fairhaven, just a hop and a skip away. With minimal hair and make-up we focused on capturing the details that mattered including their stellar customized crocs, alien bear, and Simba necklace. Emily shared a first look with her dad, while Ingrid shared some hugs with her bridal party!
Their ceremony took place on the rooftop deck of the mill, with a beautiful sunny day to greet them. Both Emily & Ingrid has tears in their eyes as they saw each other, overwhelmed with emotion at this momentous occasion. They shared vows as if reading a poem, with each reading one line after the other. Their sand ceremony was particularly special as their included sand from both the East and West coast as their lives had taken them all the way to California together, ending up back here in coastal New England for the ceremony. They shared their first kiss, and were beaming as they walked back up the aisle.
We captured most of our family formals on that same deck overlooking the water, then whisked Emily & Ingrid away to the beach just down the road. It was a gorgeous day and led to some of our favorite photos we’ve ever gotten at that little beach! These two were happy for the break from the hustle and bustle of the wedding for a few moments, but then we were right back in the action as cocktail hour ended.
Emily & Ingrid entered the room, each table adorned with a custom bean bag animal of their cat, made special by Ingrid’s work! They shared their first dance together with not a dry eye left in the house. Both the maids of honor were sisters of the brides and shared heartfelt speeches for their sibling. One even broke out into song, singing “To the Bride!” from Hamilton. Both Emily & Ingrid shared a dance with their dads, and after cutting the cake, we snuck them away for a few final photos. The sunset was stunning through the windows the the mill as we captured the wedding party formal photos along with any missing family formals. Finally with all the formalities out of the way it was time for everyone to party! HOT TO GO by Chappell Roan was a MUST have song as everyone danced along! We finished the night with one of our signature night photos, playing around with color and making our own version of a rainbow!
Congratulations again to Emily & Ingrid!
Don’t be afraid to step away from your wedding for a few photos away from the venue! It’s vitally important that you plan for the extra time it takes you to get to and from the extra location for photos though!
